As the Fall Semester wrapped up, the ranch horse team traveled to 2 Stock Horse Shows and 2 Ranch Horse Shows. Starting the year at the end of August at the Roaring Springs RHAA show, Colten Jackson placed 3rd in the Wrangler class. Dee Oles placed 2nd in the Cowboy Class and qualified for the National Finals for the RHAA association held in Abilene, TX on May 12th-14th. The team then traveled to Vernon Texas to a SHOT show where the team took Reserve Champion Collegiate Team. Dee Oles and Jake McCathern were both in the top 10 in the overall standings and Dee Oles won the Cow work. The team traveled to Abilene to at the end of October to a 2 day SHOT show where Cutter Smith placed in the top 15 in the overall standings the 1st day and Zane Thomas finished in the top 15 the 2nd day. Dee Oles won the cow work both days and several individuals placed in the top ten in different events. The last show was held in Amarillo where members competed in the RHAA show at the WRCA ranch rodeo. The team had a little tough luck as they were up against some stiff competition, but walked away with more experience. Everyone has improved from show to show and look forward to the upcoming show season where we kick it off in Abilene at a SHOT show February 26-28th.
