Clarendon College Women's Basketball's season came to a close Saturday after falling 64-54 to South Plains College in the NJCAA Region V Tournament Championship Game. The Bulldogs finish their tremendous season at 24-9.
"This one will obviously hurt for a while" explained Head Coach Mark James. "South Plains played better than we did. They are very well coached and they executed when they needed to. I wish them luck in the National Tournament. We truly believed we'd be there. Our kids have worked so hard and I've enjoyed this entire season with them. We didn't have just a great tournament run, we had a great season. And I'm crushed right now for them all and I'm upset I'll never get to coach some of these young ladies again".
Coach James went on to say "we'll be able to look back at some point and put into perspective what we accomplished this season, but that day won't be today".
