Livestock Judging Coach

Johnny Treichel

Johnny Treichel grew up in Waller, TX and has a strong background with 4-H and FFA Livestock programs. Upon his high school graduation, Mr. Treichel accepted a scholarship to judge for the legendary Jerry Hawkins at Clarendon College. He had the good fortune to be on a very successful livestock team that won contests in Shreveport, Phoenix, Denver, and Ft. Worth. He enjoys being on the Wall of Fame as one of the best at Clarendon College. West Texas A&M University would be his next destination where he would complete a degree plan in Animal Science. During his time at this institution, he judged for Dr. David Lust.  Johnny won individual cattle at the prestigious North American International Stock Show. This particular show is considered to be the National Championship event at the senior college level. Mr. Treichel coached at Tarleton State University and The University of Arizona while completing advanced degrees at both institutions. In the fall of 2003, he returned to his roots and became the second ever head coach for the proud Clarendon College judging program. Under his direction the Livestock Team has produced five All-Americans and the Meats Team has annually been either National or Reserve National Champions and has compiled 18 All Americans.
