Bret Franks enters his fifth season as the rodeo coach at Clarendon, and his seventh season as the Ranch Horse Coach.

Franks is a graduate of Oklahoma Panhandle State University.  He competed as a rodeo athlete for OPSU and won a regional title in saddle bronc riding and qualified for the NIRA finals 3 times.  His team was reserve national champions in 1993.  In 1995, he coached the OPSU rodeo team and won 2 national championships in 1997 and 1998.

While competing professional as a saddle bronc rider, Franks qualified for the National Finals Rodeo 3 times.  In 2005, he helped start Carr Pro Rodeo as a Livestock Supervisor and Rodeo Coordinator for 4 years.  Then he became Assistant Manager of Cattleman's II Feedlot and came to CC in 2013.
